Ip man (Release Date: December 18, 2008) is a Hong Kong autobiographical martial arts movie. This movie martial arts scene choreography by Sammo Hung and directed by Wilson Yip. It is a malt-production between China and Hong Kong. This movie cast are Simon Yam, Xing Yu, Lam Ka-tung, Lynn Hung, Tenma Shibuya, and Hiroyuki Ikeuchi.

In this movie Foshan is a hub of Southern Chinese martial arts, where the different schools’ students face off on each other. During the Second Sino-Japanese War, Ip and his family decided to move into an apartment after the Japanese Army confiscated their house for military headquarters.

General Miura a Japanese karate expert sets up a one-to-one combat where Chinese martial artists can challenge Miura’s military trainers for a bag of rice. At the combat after the died of Lin Ip demands a match with ten karateka at once, his skill cause the interest of Miura. Ip silently picks up rice bag and give it to Liu’s family.

After so many days when Ip does not return to the combat, Miura sends Sato and two soldiers to track him down. The Japanese learn about the cotton mill and take the workers hostage.

Miura asks Ip man to train Japanese army in Chinese martial arts, But Ip reject his offer and challenges Miura to a one-to-one combat. Ip defeats Miura after a hard fighting. After that Ip is shouted by Sato’s army, then all crowd kill Sato with his own gun. At the end Ip is taken away by Chow and escape with his family to Hong Kong.
