Because the ninja (Shinobi) was assumed for secretive and only, when necessary, works. This is a reason of less of mark on the historical record then those of Samurai. But ranking the most famous ninja is certainly no easy task. With a renge of abilities, strength, and war skill, it is hard to determine. I have constructed a definitive ranking of the most famous ninjas of feudal Japan.
Sandayu Momochi

In 16th century Sandayu Momochi (Born: 1512-Died: 1581) was the leader of the Iga ninjas. And he died during Oda Nobunaga’s conquering of Iga. Sandayu is mostly know for defying Nobunaga during the riots in Iga. He lived out his days as a farmer in kii Province – shy his life of violence for a pastoral existence far from conflict.
Ishikawa Goemon

Ishikawa Goemon (Born:24 August 1558-Died: 8 October 1595) was a Japanese robin hood who stole gold and other valuables to give to the poor. Goemon and his son were boiled alive in public after breaking down their assassination attempt on the Sengoku period. Goemon tried to assassinate Toyotomi Hideyoshi in 1594. Goemon has been portrayed in literature, film, manga, anime, video games, and in other media.
Hattori Hanzo

Hattori Hanzo (Born: 1542-Died: 23 December 1596) was a famous daimyo of the Sengoku era. Hattori served the Tokugawa Clan as a samurai and saving the life of Tokugawa leyasu and then helping Tokugawa to become the ruler of united Japan. Hattori was Known as a skilful tactician and a master of sword fighting. Hattori became a monk in Edo where he lived the rest of his day until he illness.
Mochizuki Chiyome

Mochizuki Chiyome (Born: 16th century-Died: Unknow Date) was most famous Japanese poet and noblewoman in 17th century. Mochizuki was also the wife of famous samurai Mochizuki Nobumasa of Shinano domain. She is known for creating a group of kunoichi in the Takeda clan. And she died in the battle of Nagashino.
Fuma Kotaro

Fuma Kotaro (Born: Unknow Date-Died: 1603) was the known of the Fuma clan leaders. Kotaro well known as the leader of a crowd of 200 Rappa, Divided into four groups which as brigands, pirates, burglars, and thieves. Fuma biggest achievement came in 1580, when the fuma ninjas attacked a camp of the Takeda clan forces under Takeda Katsuyori at night.
